Katrina Gueli

Katrina is one of His Majesty’s Inspectors (HMI) and Ofsted’s Regional Director for North East, Yorkshire and Humber.

Katrina is a qualified teacher and, prior to joining Ofsted, gained extensive school-based middle and senior leadership experience in a range of different schools. As a senior leader, her responsibilities included improvement of curriculum and teaching, working closely with specific departments to raise achievement.

Katrina also worked as a local authority adviser and accredited school improvement partner in both primary and secondary schools.

Katrina joined Ofsted in 2007 as an inspector in the North East, Yorkshire and Humber, then progressed onto become a Senior HMI, Assistant Regional Director and then to Acting Regional Director before being appointed as Regional Director in the East Midlands in 2019.

In April 2022, she moved to be the Regional Director for the North East, Yorkshire and Humber.
